HERE IS ASTRONAUT: Joe Allen. I knew him, back in 1975 when I was teaching flying in Greencastle, Indiana. His father was a professor at Depaw University in Greencastle, and he owned an airplane. He had a Private Pilot License already, and I gave him the training to obtain an Instrument Rating. His son, Joe Allen - the Astronaut, flew in to visit his dad, and visited at the airport a few times so we got to talk. Interesting conversations - - .
